How to Use Templates

Select a Template

Navigate to the Checklists section and click "New Checklist". Browse the template library organized by category:

  • Use the search bar to find specific templates
  • Filter by machine type or category
  • Preview template details before selection

Customize If Needed

Before starting, you can optionally customize the template:

  • Skip steps that don't apply to your specific machine
  • Add notes with machine-specific instructions
  • Set time estimates based on your equipment
  • Assign to operators if using team features

Start the Checklist

Click "Start Checklist" to begin working through the steps:

  • Each step appears individually with clear instructions
  • Required fields are marked with red asterisks
  • Optional photo capture for documentation
  • Progress automatically saves after each step

Complete and Submit

After completing all required steps:

  1. Review summary of completed items
  2. Add any final notes or observations
  3. Apply digital signature if required
  4. Submit for automatic archiving

Automatic Actions: Upon submission, the system creates an audit trail, updates compliance records, and generates reports if configured.

Pre-Startup Safety (5 steps)

  1. Verify work area is clear of personnel
  2. Check all emergency stops are functional
  3. Inspect machine guards are in place
  4. Confirm proper PPE is worn
  5. Review any maintenance tags or warnings

Power & Systems (6 steps)

  1. Turn on main electrical disconnect
  2. Power up control system
  3. Wait for system initialization (30 seconds)
  4. Check for error messages on display
  5. Verify all axis displays are active
  6. Home all axes per manufacturer procedure

Hydraulics & Pneumatics (5 steps)

  1. Check hydraulic pressure (spec: 1500-2000 PSI)
  2. Verify hydraulic fluid level
  3. Inspect for visible leaks
  4. Check air pressure (spec: 80-100 PSI)
  5. Drain air system moisture trap

Lubrication & Coolant (4 steps)

  1. Check way lube reservoir level
  2. Verify automatic lubrication cycle
  3. Check coolant level in tank
  4. Test coolant concentration (5-10%)

Spindle & Tool System (3 steps)

  1. Run spindle warm-up program (5 min)

Final Checks (2 steps)

  1. Test cycle start/feed hold/reset buttons
  2. Document any issues in maintenance log

Conditional Steps: Some steps may branch based on your responses. For example, if you identify an issue in step 24, additional troubleshooting steps will appear.

Pro Tip: Template Customization

After using a template several times, you can save your customized version as a new template. This preserves your machine-specific modifications and notes for consistent use across your team. Access this feature through Settings → Checklist Templates → Save as Custom.
